Wondersauce was tasked with making one of Europe's top value cosmetics brands a success in North America. We began by refreshing the brand for the young American and Canadian women. With a highly competitive market and strong affinity to established brands, essence had to immediate stand out and feel relatable.

Real Girls are the Face of the Brand

Wondersauce realized, that in attempting to connect to a specific audience in a saturated market, essence needed something to relate to that wasn't a celebrity face or a nameless model. Real girls are integral to the essence brand. Since relaunching the brand in 2015, we've partnered with over 30 girls from the United States and Canada with a grassroots influencer strategy.

essence's first direct-to-consumer experience was concepted and designed to showcase the brand's personality and create a fun, shopping experience for the young American and Canadian woman. essence's audience is on mobile. With a mobile-first approach, we create a straightforward experience with touches of gameified interactions to encourage conversion.
