A blend of infrastructure and activation for Federal-Mogul Motorparts

Wondersauce worked with Federal-Mogul Motorparts to rebuild their global infrastructure for their brand sites. Starting with an audit of 20 brands with individual web properties, we set out to create a global system that would work for 90% of use cases for each brand. During the user experience and design process, we not only considered the front-end user, but also the people who needed these sites to be easy to update with fresh content: the brand managers at Federal-Mogul Motorparts.

Search for A Champion

Search for A Champion has steadily evolved over the past years, from enabling grassroots racers to compete for Champion sponsorship packages to extending beyond the racetrack to home maintenance heroes - giving a unique audience part of the action. With the new contest structure, Wondersauce developed strategic social campaigns dedicated to driving awareness around the campaign.

Coming on its sixth year, Search for A Champion has evolved from strictly a grassroots race competition to now calling at home maintenance heroes to showcase their talents! Requiring unique targeting and positioning.

MOOG Race to the Chase®

Wondersauce developed Race to the Chase® with the NASCAR fan in mind. Straight and to the point, Wondersauce worked to design a unique bracket where users would register and vote each week on the NASCAR driver they think would win the upcoming race. At the end of the competition, the user who amassed the most points through weekly voting wins an all expense paid vacation to the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series™. From strategic media advertising to targeted promotional initiatives, the contest has succeeded in generating over 2,500 entrants and is still rising.

Wagner Brake Rate

While most automotive video games are all about going fast, the Wagner Brake Rate video game is about slowing down. Wondersauce created 4 distinct environments and levels for users to test their ability to keep things slow and safe, while not wearing down their brake pads too fast. To date, the game has been played over 11,000 times.

Brand Video Documentary

Using a documentary-style approach, Wondersauce set out to capture the quality people, process, and product in Federal-Mogul manufacturing plants across the USA. Visiting locations in Skokie, Illinois, St. Louis, Missouri, Detroit, Michigan, York, Pennsylvania, Birmingham, Alabama, and Smithville, Tennessee, a lean crew captured nearly 24 hours of footage, resulting in a 4-minute short film on the manufacturing philosophy, along with a library of high-quality imagery to be used on websites, digital ads, and social content.
